America’s Oldest Singing Christmas Tree Celebrates 83 Years In Jackson, MS

Belhaven University’s Singing Christmas Tree began in 1933, and it is the first and oldest outdoor singing Christmas tree event in the country. This year will mark the 83rd anniversary of this special concert. Two performances on December 4th and 5th are free to the public and will take place at the Belhaven University Athletic Bowl at 7:30 p.m.

Millsaps College Unveils Four-Year Graduation Guarantee

In conjunction with its new Compass Curriculum, Millsaps College has announced an initiative that guarantees graduation in four years, or the College will waive tuition and fees on courses required to complete a bachelor’s degree.

Uber: When Competition Is Seen As A Threat

Last week I was spending time with some friends in Des Moines Iowa at a local pub. It started to get late and I had a bit to drink so I opted to get an Uber for a ride back to my hotel. I took out my phone, pulled up the app and requested a ride which gave me an estimate of how long it would take to arrive. I was able to track the location of the car with the app so I would be able to meet them outside when it arrived. The app even gave me the name of my driver, his picture, and a description of the vehicle. Once the car arrived I got in and greeted my driver, Thomas, entered my destination with the app, and we started our journey.

NRA Awards Joel Bomgar Highest AQ Rating

The National Rifle Association Political Victory Fund (NRA-PVF) awarded House of Representative District 58 candidate Joel Bomgaran AQ rating. An “AQ” is reserved for a pro-gun candidate whose rating is based on pro-gun responses to the NRA-PVF Candidate Questionnaire and is the highest rating a candidate can receive without a voting record on Second Amendment issues.
